]]> Katja from Of Dreams And Seams put together a wonderful tutorial on how to make this adorable braided rug. She gives some great tips and you can even see some demonstration stitches in the video.

Here is what you’ll need to get started:

  1. Fabric strips cut in widths of about 4-6 inches, long strips
  2. Underlying fabric such as an old towel
  3. Sturdy needle
  4. Heavy thread

Step by step instructions to get you started:

  1. Start with 3 strips and begin to braid
  2. As you near the end, add on another set of 3 strips and continue braiding
  3. Once you have a good amount of braid ready, it’s time to start sewing it to the towel
  4. Continue braiding and sewing it down to the towel base
  5. See the video to learn how to finish the rug and for helpful tips
