1. Strawberry cupcakes

Sometimes it’s nice to transition into a new season light and easy, keeping things simple but delicious. In cases like this, we usually like to pick our favourite fruit and run with it! Strawberry cupcakes are a classic that we never get tired of and we’re confident that most other people would agree, barring any food allergies. Get a nice, easy recipe from Martha Stewart.

2. Strawberry rose mini cupcakes

Do you love the idea of making cupcakes that include strawberries but you’d like to make them even more springlike and flavourful that the recipe you saw above? Then follow in One Vanilla Bean‘s lead and add some hints of rose to the recipe! Pop some layered strawberry slices on top of the icing and you’ve got a cute garnish and some extra taste, all ready to go.

3. Lemon cupcakes with lime and ginger whipped cream

Is your favourite part of summer fruit coming back into season the part where all your citrus things get juicier and more full of flavour? Well, citrus might not sound like something that goes well with cupcakes, but The Pleasure Monger begs to differ. These cupcakes taste just like fresh lemons and, as if that wasn’t good enough, they’re topped with an equally fresh lime icing! The whole thing has just a hint of ginger for contrast.

4. Orange blossom cupcake with raw cashew cream

Perhaps you’re very into the idea of making spring cupcakes but you’ve also been trying to watch your calorie intake of just generally eat healthier? Well, icing made with raw, organic ingredients is definitely one way to compromise! That might not sound like the most fun, but Foodily assures you that it’s delicious, particularly on top of an orange blossom flavoured cupcake!

5. Bubblegum surprise cupcakes

Okay, so we admit that we know bubblegum isn’t exactly your typical fruity spring flavour. Sometimes, however, all you really need to get into the spirit of spring are some super fun bright colours, and that’s something that a bubblegum flavoured cupcake certainly has to offer! Check out how they’re made on A Little Zaftig. We simply adore the idea of hiding a gumdrop in the middle with icing all around.

6. Meyer lemon cupcakes with candied lemon zes

Did you like the basic idea of the lemon cupcake that we talked about above but you’re not sure you actually like lime flavours enough to really enjoy the addition of lime and ginger icing on top? Don’t worry, we totally understand how tempting the idea of a completely pure lemon taste is, especially when it comes to baked goods. The Food Addicts has a zesty lemon recipe that we think you’ll enjoy!

7. Shirley Temple gluten free cupcakes

Have you always been a fan of novelty drinks that taste like foods and novelty foods that taste like drinks? We think they’re neat as well, especially when they’re sweet and flavourful, so imagine how pleased we were when we found these Shirley Temple cupcakes on Simply Gluten Free! As you might have been able to guess by the website name, perhaps the best part about these cupcakes is that they’re gluten free, making them enjoyable for all your friends and family!

8. Peach tea cupcakes

Maybe you’re looking for a more unconventionally flavoured cupcake that’s still sweet and fruity but a little less intense than something that tastes completely of lemons or strawberries? Then try a milder peach flavour that, while still refreshing, tastes more like an herbal tea than something overly sweet. Get the fully recipe and baking instructions on Paula Deen.

9. Triple citrus cupcakes

Perhaps the previous citrus cupcake flavours we talked about earlier were almost exactly what you need, but you’d actually prefer even more citrus than what those ones included? Then we think we might have found the recipe for you! Tracy’s Culinary Adventures guides you through the process of creating a triple citrus cupcake that tastes like limes, lemons, and oranges.

10. Pineapple coconut cupcakes

Maybe when you think of summer flavours, your mind automatically goes to fruits that taste a little more tropical than your average lemons and limes? In that case, coconuts and pineapples are definitely the way to go! As if those things don’t taste fantastic enough on their own, they make a combination together that’s nothing short of heavenly. See how these scrumptious cupcakes were made on Two Tiny Kitchens.

11. Pink champagne cupcakes

Remember a few recipes earlier when we said that sometimes all you need to make a fun springtime cupcake was a bright colour and a neat novelty concept? Well, just in case the bubblegum idea wasn’t quite your thing, here’s another bright pink alternative! The Baking Robot guides you through the process of making cupcakes that look and take like delicious pink champagne.

12.  Peanut butter and jelly cupcakes

Perhaps when you think of warmer weather and more time spent outdoors, your mind doesn’t actually go to refreshing fruit flavours at all? If you’re anything like us, one of the best things about spring that you look forward to every year is going on picnics, and every good picnic involves a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich, of course. Check out how AtKokken made these cupcakes that taste just like peanut butter and your favourite jelly or jam.

13. White chocolate strawberry ice cream cupcakes

Is springtime weather particularly warm where you live, meaning you’re already looking for recipes that will help you cool down on a hot day? Well, you might not think of cupcakes off hand since they’re not usually cold items, but Bakingdom is here to show you how to change that! These cupcakes are not only made with ice cream, but they’re also a delicious combination of white chocolate and strawberries to really make your taste buds dance.

14. Coconut lime cupcakes

We’ve talked a lot about many different awesome fruit flavours, but not everything we’ve mentioned has been seen in combination with everything else yet on our list. In case you’re interested in mixing and matching just a little bit, here’s an awesome recipe that combines coconut and lime in a mouthwatering way. We love the way The Boastful Baker added toasted coconut as a topping.

15. Pink lemonade cupcakes

Are you still very into the idea of a bright pink novelty flavoured cupcake but you still haven’t quite found the one that really tickles your fancy? Well, luckily for all of us, we’ve managed to rustle you up just one more that totally fits the bill! Check out how I Heart Naptime created an awesomely sweet cupcake that tastes just like pink lemonade. What’s more refreshing than that?

1. Gilded initials

If you’ve never tried candle carving before but you’re look for an easy project to get started, then this heart and initials idea from Hello Glow is an awesome idea for you! Follow their tutorial for making your image in the side of a candle that you’ve bought or made and paint your carving in whatever colour you like!

2. Valentine heart candle

Perhaps you’re not quite ready for making letters in your candle carving yet and you’d rather stick to simple shapes? That’s okay too! Sometimes the easiest drawing, like this adorable Valentine’s Day heart, makes the best gift. See how it’s done on DIY Gal.

3. Leaf etched candles

Perhaps you’d like to carve in a little more detail than simple solid lines, but you’re still not ready for a true artisanal piece? Check out this leaf pattern by Alabama Chanin! This design will give you a little more practice carving fine details when you add the lines inside the leaves.

4. Colour carved candles

Are you a fan of bright colours and geometric patterns but you’re still practicing your candle carving? Here’s a simple carving idea that lets you work with colour and contrast for an awesomely decorative aesthetic! Check out how to make each little cutout shape on Decor Asylum.

5. Geometrically moulded candles

Technically this tutorial from How Did You Make This actually teaches you how to mould candles in a geometric shape right from the beginning, but you could carve this design too! As long as you keep your

6. Simple 3D floral candle

Do you feel like you’re ready to start practicing layered 3D candle carving, like the kind you’ve undoubtedly seen on TV? Start simple, easy, and cute! D.light Candles guides you through the process of lightly shaving thin layers of wax upward from four points and curling them into a central point so they look like a pretty flower!

7. Carved beeswax rose

Candle 101 shows you the steps for shaving and moulding very thin layers of wax in waving shapes to resemble lifelike rose petals. We love the way the central petal spirals around the wick in the centre. This one might look rather complicated, but it’s actually quite simple if you’re willing to put in the time.

8. Swooping Valentine’s heart

Did you try the layered 3D flower design and have more luck than you anticipated with your first attempt at layered carving? Then it’s time to try something that’s a slight step up! Check out this curling heart idea from Fresh Designpedia that would make the perfect caring Valentine’s Day gift for the one you love.

9. Quote carved candle

Perhaps you really enjoyed carving letters into the side of your candle when you tried the initials design above and you’d like to practice some more? Choose a quote that inspires you or reminds you of a friend or loved one and carve it into the side of a candle! Check the technique out in more detail at Rustic Scentuals.

10. Simple spiral carving

Are you looking for an intricate pattern that’s a little more subtle than a 3D carving, but that still looks fancy and intricate? Then we definitely recommend taking a look at this simple spiral pattern from 123 Peppy. With attention to detail and a steady hand, you’ll be able to make as many swirls as you please!

11. Tulip and butterfly candle

Are you interested in learning the same carving techniques as the very skilled candle artists on those TV documentaries you’ve seen use? Here’s a great introductory project to make several shapes and folds that you’ll use often as you progress! The flower and butterfly design is also completely gorgeous, especially if you use a colour layered candle like Makezine did here.

12. Cut n’ curl candle

One Stop Candle has the ultimate idea for you in simple but very visually impressive candle carving designs! They show you how to shave strips up the side of the candle, carefully twist them into vertical spirals, and reattach them at the bottom near the base. Make sure the strips aren’t too thin or too thick, or they’ll break if you don’t twist carefully!

13. Downward curling colours

Do you love watching the way the strips of wax curl downward as you cut them? Embrace that into a pretty design by helping each strip curl like a ringlet near the bottom and then piling another on top by stripping another thin layer from the newly exposed wax underneath. One Stop Candle shows you more details about this design.

14. Colour braided candle

Once you’ve gotten the hang of cutting smooth strips, bending them in certain directions, and re-sealing their ends, try creating a pattern that’s a little more intricate looking to really impressed guests when they visit your home! This idea from Diply winds and weaves several strips that have been cut downward from the top of the candle, creating a braided look around the bottom.

15. Autumn carved candle

Sometimes it’s nice to just create a simple craft that you can finish in a couple hours in the afternoon and put on display right away. Seasons and holidays are a great excuse for projects like that (not that we ever need an excuse for DIY)! We adore this autumn leaf and pumpkin design from Fashion Meets Food that’s perfect for this month!
